DOLLY’S DINER IN PRINCETON, WV: AWARD-WINNING COMFORT FOOD & RETRO CHARM

Dolly’s Diner in Princeton, West Virginia, has garnered national recognition for its nostalgic ambiance and homestyle cooking. Featured by Southern Living as one of the “Best Retro Diners in the South”, Dolly’s offers an authentic 1950s-inspired dining experience that delights both locals and travelers.

The diner has also been honored with Tripadvisor’s Travelers’ Choice Award, placing it among the top 10% of restaurants worldwide.

A Taste of Tradition

Owned by Leonard and Dolly Lane, Dolly’s Diner serves up hearty American classics in a welcoming, family-style setting. The menu features fluffy omelets, juicy burgers, savory steaks, and homestyle dinners that are all cooked with care and served with a side of Southern hospitality. Appalachian favorites include biscuits and gravy, of course.

Dolly’s Legendary Desserts

Dolly’s homemade desserts are a highlight of the dining experience. One standout is the “Holy Cow”: a devil’s food cake layered with condensed milk, butterscotch topping, cream cheese icing, whipped cream, and crushed Butterfinger candy.

Other rotating favorites include:

  • Peanut butter pie
  • Fruit pies like peach, cherry, raspberry, and strawberry
  • Lighter options such as orange dreamsicle and butterscotch pie

The dessert selection changes daily, offering new temptations for every visit.

A Community Favorite

Located right off Interstate 77 on Exit 9, Dolly’s is a community favorite, but also a a great place for first-time visitors to experience classic meals with an Appalachian twist.
