Clay Memorial Park takes you back to the earliest days of Mercer County. In 1775, Mitchell and Phoebe Belcher Clay became the first settlers in the area, carving out a life near Princeton along the Bluestone River. Tragedy struck when their family was attacked by Shawnee Indians. Today, a solemn memorial honors the children lost, offering a place of reflection in quiet surroundings
