Bluefield Historical Home Driving Tour

This historic driving tour offers a glimpse into Bluefield's golden era, showcasing just a few of the 250 sites on the National Register of Historic Places. Many of these stately homes were crafted by architect Alex B. Mahood, who studied in Paris and brought refined European influence to southern West Virginia. These homes once belonged to the city's powerhouses- bankers, mine owners, architects- whose vision built Bluefield into a bustling coal and rail hub during its heyday.
