RIDE WEST VIRGINIA’S FIRST AND ONLY MOUNTAIN COASTER

Let the wind rush through your hair as you wind around the hills of Mercer County, West Virginia, on the state’s first-ever mountain coaster. The Brush Creek Holl’r Mountain Coaster is officially open!

Located at Brushcreek Falls RV Resort, just a short drive from the Princeton exit, this one-of-a-kind attraction is the first and only mountain coaster in West Virginia and can even be spotted from I-77.

What To Expect

This gravity-driven ride curves through scenic hills, offering front-row views of forested slopes and mountain landscapes.

The journey begins at the station building, where riders are seated in a cart, buckled in and given a safety check. From there, the carts climb 700 feet straight up the mountain before a small drop to the left kicks off more than 2,500 feet of thrilling track, lined with hairpin curves and exciting 360-degree turns.

Riders can reach speeds up to 30 miles per hour while twisting and turning along the track, but the pace is entirely customizable. With a hand-operated brake system, rides can range from a slow, scenic descent to a fast-paced, adrenaline-filled run.

Designed for both thrill-seekers and families, the mountain coaster delivers a memorable experience for all ages. Spanning approximately 3,200 feet, the coaster incorporates a coal mine theme that honors the region’s heritage.

Mountain Coaster Safety

Safety is just as important as fun at Brush Creek Holl’r. The coaster is equipped with state-of-the-art safety features and intuitive controls to ensure a secure, smooth ride for everyone.

Built-in safety elements include:

  • Automatic braking systems
  • Seat belts
  • Anti-collision technology
  • Speed regulators

Riders are also monitored by professionally trained operators and a network of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, providing a full view of the entire track. The entire track is inspected each morning before opening to ensure everything is ready for the day.

Rider Requirements

Each cart accommodates two riders — a driver and a passenger — provided they meet the age, height and weight requirements.

Requirements include:

  • Drivers must be at least 9 years old to ride solo
  • Passengers must be at least 3 years old
  • Riders under 9 must ride with a related adult (16+ years old)
  • Single riders must be between 54 inches and 84 inches tall
  • Tandem passengers must be at least 38 inches tall
  • Weight limit: 375 pounds (dry conditions), 330 pounds (wet conditions)

Note: Pets are not permitted on the coaster.
