4 WAYS TO EXPERIENCE PIPESTEM RESORT STATE PARK’S BEST VIEWS

Spanning 4,050 acres, Pipestem Resort State Park in Mercer County, West Virginia, is filled with scenic overlooks and heart-pumping outdoor experiences. From sky-high adventures to peaceful trails, here are four of the best ways to take in the park’s stunning views.

1. Aerial Tramway

Take in the views from above on the aerial tramway! During the six-minute ride, the tram carries passengers 1,200 feet down into the Bluestone River Gorge, offering plenty of time to take in the scenery. Each gondola seats six and is ADA accessible. A dedicated freight gondola for bicycles, kayaks and other gear ensures your adventures can continue seamlessly.

2. Pipestem Peaks Zipline Tour

Soar through the treetops on the Pipestem Peaks Zipline Tour. This world-class canopy tour includes nine exhilarating zips, a cable bridge and a belay. Crossing the Bluestone Gorge three times, with heights exceeding 300 feet, this adventure offers both breathtaking views and adrenaline-pumping speeds of up to 50 miles per hour!

3. Horseback Riding

Saddle up for fun! Pipestem Stables offers trail rides ranging from half-hour to two hours, or enjoy a scenic hayride while taking in the park’s beauty on horseback.

4. Hiking

With 17 diverse trails, there’s a path for every hiker at Pipestem. Stroll easy trails through oak-hickory forests and around the park’s lake, or challenge yourself on moderate trails leading to overlooks and waterfalls. For avid hikers, difficult trails connect to Bluestone State Park, providing extended adventures and more incredible views.
