No matter what direction you go in Mercer County, you’ll find interesting local stops.

Up north you’ll find plenty of outdoor adventure and amazing scenery at Camp Creek State Park & Forest and Pipestem Resort State Park. Go for a hike, do some fishing, take a horseback ride and more here.

In Princeton, the lively Mercer Street Grassroots District offers a little bit of everything — from food and drinks to shopping, history and art. Visit the Blue Ridge Bee Company to stock up on local honey, West Virginia maple syrup, fresh produce and other items. Stop by The Bronze Look for unique finds and see one of the town’s many murals.

Travel south to Bluefield, a once-booming coal town, and observe its revitalization first-hand. From boutiques to bakeries, the city has plenty to explore. Enjoy a tasty breakfast or lunch at The Blue Spoon Cafe followed up with handcrafted cocktails and delicious dinner at The Railyard.

A short drive west from Bluefield is Pinnacle Rock State Park and the historic town of Bramwell. Take a walking tour of the “Town of Millionaires” to see the former homes of coal barons.
