Whether the kids have a day off from school or you just want to explore scenery that’s blanketed in snow, we’ve got some ideas for the perfect wintery day in Mercer County.

Breakfast: Sister’s Coffee House
Swing by Sister’s for a quick cup of coffee and breakfast before a day of fun!
Local tip: For a morning wake up call, you can’t go wrong with the Crazy Monkey banana espresso. If you’re in the mood for lunch, try the curry chicken salad!

Morning: Princeton Railroad Museum
Stay warm by taking in some history! Discover Mercer County’s railroad history at the Princeton Railroad Museum. Make sure you stop and look at the VGN 308 – it’s one of twenty-five cabooses built by the St. Louis Car Company in 1948 and 1949 for the VGNRWY. It was donated by the Norfolk and Southern Railroad to the City of Princeton in 1989 and brought to the museum in 2010. Afterwards, walk around downtown Princeton to see unique murals painted by local artists.

Lunch: The Corner Shop
Snowy days call for special meals – and The Corner Shop in Bramwell is the perfect spot for old-fashioned diner food and ice cream treats.
Local tip: The Corner Shop makes its own ice cream, so don’t leave without trying a scoop. We recommend the blackberry cashew or banana pudding. The Rooney Mushroom Swill burger is a must-try, too.

Afternoon: Pinnacle Rock State Park
Warm up by taking a quick hike at Pinnacle Rock State Park! The view from the top of this 3,100 foot sandstone rock formation will leave you breathless – even in winter. You can see several counties from the top!
