Celebrate Fourth of July 2018 in Mercer County!

On the 4th of July, the entire country will celebrate America’s birthday with fireworks, cook-outs and concerts. The 4th of July will be filled with activities in Mercer County for the entire family. Here is our guide for the best celebrations in southern West Virginia:

The town of Bramwell will host children’s activities on July 4 from 12 p.m.-3 p.m., at the train depot on Main Street. (There will be no fireworks this year.)

Nothing says Happy Independence Day like baseball and fireworks. Come out to the Bluefield Blue Jays game at Bowen Field against Burlington on July 3 at 7:05 p.m. Fireworks will start at the end of the game. Be sure to grab a seat early!

Princeton Speedway hosts the 2nd Annual Freedom 30 on  Tuesday, July 3, with a night of open wheel racing followed by a fireworks spectacular.Call 304-425-9429 or go to www.princetonspeedway. net for a full racing schedule and ticket prices. General admission will be $20 and the pits will be $35. Watch drivers race for cash prizes! 

The 8th annual Mercer County Fourth of July Celebration at the Hunnicutt Stadium in Princeton will begin at  9 a.m., with a car show.  Stadium gates open at 1 p.m. Throughout the day, there will a Kids Corner, live music and more. The evening will end with Rick K and the Allnighters followed by spectacular fireworks around 10 p.m.This event is free to the public. Family friendly with no alcohol allowed.
